I am passionate about helping people work through current struggles by healing from trauma, improving self-esteem, managing stress, anxiety and depression symptoms. It takes a great deal of courage to be open and vulnerable in therapy. I have a great appreciation for this willingness and meet each person where they are.
I strive to create a safe and trusting space within the therapy room with the use of empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard. I work with clients through a co-created experience where we connect the past to the present and find opportunities for growth and change.
I have received training in and currently hold a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I often incorporate this into my practice helping clients to understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they influence maladaptive patterns.
After graduating with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, I moved to Pennsylvania. During that time, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Professional Clinical Counseling and gained a great deal of experience working in a variety of settings. I provided in-home therapy using a teams-based approach to work with children, adolescents, and their families. My most recent experience has been in a traditional outpatient therapy setting providing mostly telehealth services.
In 2021, I relocated back to Virginia with my husband. I am licensed to practice in Virginia and Pennsylvania. I provide both in-person and telehealth counseling.
